Sharker 1.2 Update
Grooveshark has switched it’s interface to HTML5. Currently, I’m in the middle of exams, however. On the plus side, I’ve put together a quick fix that will allow you to switch between songs.
I’ve removed the ability to hide the ad for the time being, since I don’t want to release something that is half working. I should have a fix for this within two weeks however....

Of Thanksgiving, but mostly Fall
Today is October 10, 2010 and I am home. I am away from the busy city, and away from the noise. It is tranquil, calming, and relaxing. In fact, it is so relaxing, that last night, I was able to go for a walk, look up, and see a clear sky, lit with the twinkle of numerous stars.
That being said, I’m in the middle of nowhere - and that leads me to write this. Currently, I am situated in the...

Word '07 workaround - equations don't print...
I’ve been having a bit of trouble with getting Microsoft Word to properly print equations that are created in the 07’s version, to a PDF document.
I’ve tried using Office’s built in “Save As PDF” function, and tried using a PDF printer, without success.
In order to work around this, I saved the file using “Save As”, and changing the document to use...

Sushi. 99. the new restaurant in town
This past Saturday night, my design team and I decided to go out for dinner before we sat down to have our weekly meeting. As a complete aside - we generally have team meetings on the weekends, as one of our team members is currently away in Singapore. Anyways, on my daily drives to campus, I had noticed that a new restaurant, near my house, had opened. The name - Sushi 99. Now us being avid...
Background noise, neighbours, and music.
Music never ceases to be one of the most important factors in my life. Being a student, I am often working under stressful and tight timelines, struggling to stay ahead of the vast amount of work that never ceases to exist. As such, I find that I am spending a lot of time either on campus, in the library, or at home.
Unfortunately, at both of these locations, there are many distractions.
When...

University. Here we go again.
Today marks the first day back to class for us students here at the University of Waterloo. Now that all the frosh events have passed (and I have purposely avoided campus over the past week in fear of being trampled by the froshlings - lol ling rush), it’s back to the same grind of attending lectures, burning enormous amounts of time writing prelab experiments, executing the labs, and...

Thoughts on Jolicloud 1.0
Today, I installed Jolicloud on a virtual machine to give it a whirl. Jolicloud is an operating system that is built on top of Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook edition, and comes with a default theme that is both sleek and stylish. The theme has a focus around rounded corners and gray gradients - appealing and easy on the eyes.
User Interface
The user interface is simple, yet is functional. The layout of...

Updates, Sharker, Myself
Today has been the first time in quite a few weeks where I have been able to take some time for myself. So what did I do today? I’ve been taking some time to myself and catching up on some of my social networking, updating my linkedin profile, ordering some Grooveshark t-shirts, checking out a social site called GetGlue and checking out some random Tumblogs.
The coming Sharker Update
The...

Syncing iCal with Google Calendars and avoiding...
I recently wanted to get all my calendars to sync up nicely and decided to go down the route of using Google Calendars, since it was a free service and sync support was supported across iCal and with my iPhone. This was all fine and dandy until I wanted to sync more than one Google calendar. When I wanted to get more than one calendar from my Google CalDav account, it showed up as a delegate.

Sharker now with Grooveshark ad removal
Sharker, an extension for Safari 5 now allows you to hide the ad sidebar. However, if you only want to use the context controls and the toolbar controls, you can still turn this feature off in the extension preferences.
Check it out here
My first Safari Extension: Url shortener
With all this hype about WWDC and Safari, and the iPhone 4, iOS4 and apps, and such, I thought I would take a stab at making an extension. It turns out that it is really, really easy.
The app can be found here at http://code.google.com/p/safari-5-url-shortener/
What’s the point of this app? This extension allows you to shorten the url of the current page that you are currently on without...

Browsers - Safari 5 - Preferences - What's yours?
In light of Apple’s recent launch of Safari 5 which coincided with this year’s WWDC event, several claims were made about the browser, including its speed and new features: Reader, and Extensions. As well, article have been popping up all over the internet, raving about these new features, while other tech savvy people are displaying their dislikes over the new version. Personally,...

It feels as if it has been forever since I have made a blog post on here, or anywhere on the net, for that matter. So, lets change that around and get back to it!
